Kyanite 

Kyanite is a striking blue aluminum silicate mineral that forms long, blade-like crystals under high-pressure metamorphic conditions.

Key Properties & Characteristics
Appearance:<span;> Usually found in vibrant, blade-like, or fan-shaped formations. While best known as dark blue, it also comes in green, black, and orange.

Hardness: Highly anisotropic, meaning it has a soft hardness of about 4.5 to 5.5 along the crystal's length, but a harder 6.5 to 7 across the width.

Name Origin: Derived from the Greek word <span;>kyanos<span;>, meaning "dark blue".
