The Quest

The Quest began to take shape after I put out an online survey to my social media contacts in August 2025

I have contacts from my care work, community work, fundraising activites, events management and my work within music, arts and crafts.  

With the findings of this survey I have decided to bring together funding applications and opportunitues of online fundraising to provide a needs led service that aims is to support indivuals to become creative, use their imagination, express themselves through music, creative writing, arts or crafts. 

 I aim to provide accessible services within music, arts and crafts.

The Quest: Part One

I am raising awareness for The National Autistic Society

I have family diagnosed with Autism and have worked for people who require support to live as independently as possible

Starting 1st October until the 31st October 2026, I embarked on the 100 miles walk & bike ride throughout October to raise awareness and funds for the charity. 

Maria'’s Adventure and fundraising journey is now complete and I will be adding videos and more about my 100 mile journey.

The Quest: Part Two

Funding for Licensing

To begin with, I am moving forward by breaking the Quest down into clear and understandable points.

I will be using the outcome of the survey to guide me and the services I aim to gain funding for and then provide.

Why do I need licensing? 

To use other musicians music online by using it on social media, I require specific licensing that enables me to use other artists music. (Such as backing tracks) 

As a musician I play instruments myself but to use full professional backing tracks when working with the community I will need to purchase the correct licences that ensures I can share our events and promote online.

Positive Change

Who is Maria Tucker?

I am a musician, singer/songwriter, poet, artist, jewellery maker,  community fundraiser and carer.

I hold a BA Honours and Diploma in Social Work and have over 26 years experience in social care and have worked in homeless services. With the overall aim to create positive change in this world.

I have also seem to have gained a passion when it comes to saving important community assets such as significant monuments, buildings/ community venues. 


The Magic & Spark within!

I won a singing competition when I was 5 years old at Butlins Skegness by performing the song Sing a rainbow

I experienced homelessness as a teenager where I found my very first guitar in a skip

I have alway had this feeling of magic and wonder from within me since I can ever remember, even when experiencing Ill health I have always had the faith to find my strength and rebuild. 

I have used music and art to help me get through my worst days and with this I aim to provide a positive way forward within music, arts and crafts for myself and those I work with in the future.

After 55 years I know that life can be very challenging, not just for myself but for so many others too.

So with my life experience and listening to what others would like to see and be involved in.

I will use my strong passion to build something to create a journey that aims to bring about positive change.
